Cheops Technology signs SPLA agreement with Microsoft.
Edegem, 14 March 2008
Cheops Technology has concluded a SPLA agreement with Microsoft (Service Provider License Agreement). This means that customers who use our Managed Hosting Services and Hosted Applications no longer have to purchase their own Microsoft licences but will be able to rent their licences based on their usage at a monthly rate.
The Microsoft Services Provider License Agreement (SPLA) enables service providers like Cheops to license Microsoft products on a monthly basis so that they can offer their end-users hosted applications and other services.
The Microsoft software products that form a part of the programme can be licensed in two different ways:
The advantages:
The latest software versions
The latest software versions The SPLA pricing structure includes Software Assurance which always enables our clients to use the latest versions of the products in the programme for a monthly fee.
Global reach
Through the internet and other channels we are capable of delivering software services to our customers anywhere in the world.
Monthly usage costs
Monthly usage costs Because you will only pay for the licences which you have actually used during a certain month, there will be no fixed costs and no risk of having to pay for licences you have not used. You will only pay the monthly licence fees for the licences used in the previous month. Moreover, there are no minimum licence requirements.
Free demos, tests and evaluations
You can have limited demonstration samples, tests and evaluations entirely for free.
Stable tariffs
If necessary the prices of the SPLA programmes will be harmonised with the tariff changes made in the Microsoft Open Licensing Program in the previous year. This occurs in January on an annual basis only, so prices are fixed for a year.
SPLA enables our clients to make merely the smallest investment in start-up costs since they only pay for licences for services supplied on a monthly basis.
