Hubo : consolidation and simplification of the IT infrastructure with the implementation of HP Blade Servers and centralised storage infrastructure on the basis of an HP EVA SAN.
Edegem, 14 January 2008
Hubo is a 100% Belgian SME where DIY enthusiasts will find all they need under one roof in more than 90 branches across the country.
In order to harmonise all these branches Hubo uses a sophisticated ERP package and it was high time to centralise and simplify its IT infrastructure.
After extensive market research the twinned HP-Cheops team proposed the best solution from both technical and financial points of view.
This solution consists of an HP BladeSystem enclosure with various full-height blade servers, linked to a powerful HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array-SAN by way of redundant fibre switches while VMWare will look after the virtualisation of the systems. This configuration will be used for several applications as the central storage infrastructure, including ERP utilities and a database application, soon to be supplemented with numerous other software packages.
There are still supplementary blades waiting in the wings to simplify and centralise the infrastructure even further and thus help Hubo in the ongoing support and development of its organisation with increased efficiency, greater availability and a demonstrably lower TCO (Total Cost of Ownership).
