Cheops takes care of faultless migration and a new Citrix infrastructure for MultiComm and its 5 subsidiaries.

Edegem, 06 March 2009

Holding company MultiComm and five subsidiaries (Kidslab, Funinvest, BeeToSee, Fluxius and Adimex) were until recently housed in seven different locations, so the IT infrastructure was highly decentralised and not integrated.

At the end of 2007 MultiComm asked Cheops to centralise and optimise the network and to coordinate and implement the move of the entire IT infrastructure to the new buildings at the Straatsburgdok.

During the year 2008 the servers were housed in phases in the Cheops datacenter and migrated to a Citrix farm with a VMware Virtual Infrastructure consisting of more than 30 virtual servers of which 19 are Citrix servers.
Thanks to this solution, some 200 users can keep working without difficulty from any location whatever; moreover this solution offers an answer to MultiComm’s need for High Availability and achieves impressive cost savings.
By letting Cheops manage all its data and applications, the MultiComm group can from now on focus on its core activity.

In the second phase, Cheops planned and rolled out the new network for the new building, making use among other things, of VLAN technology to be able to house everyone under one roof, but with all the businesses working within their own environment (virtual LAN).
Combined with a redundant 20Mb BiLAN/Explore internet connection with GOLD SLA, Cheops ensures that all MultiComm business work efficiently with maximum uptime.

In the course of the coming months another three subsidiaries at home and abroad will be migrated to the new platform.
