IaaS – Deutsche Leasing in the Cloud with Cheops.
Edegem, 25 September 2009
The AG Deutsche Leasing Group is an international and successful player in the field of investment solutions and leasing-products for fleet, machinery and ICT-equipment and is an important subsidiary of the German savings bank Sparkassen.
Being in full expansion Deutsche Leasing will begin commercializing its services in Belgium.
For the successful startup of this Belgian branch, Cheops Technology was contacted to design, implement and manage a “next generation” IT-infrastructure based on a Gold SLA (Service Level Agreement).
This SLA guarantees 24x7 availability of our engineers and with that also the uptime of systems and network.
Cheops implements for Deutsche Leasing a server infrastructure based on Microsoft Terminal Server with Microsoft Exchange as e-mail platform.
In order to guarantee a maximized availability, flexibility and security the servers and storage were virtualized with VMware vSphere and are hosted in the Cheops Datacenter.
This kind of solution is called “IaaS – Infrastructure as a Service” or “Utility Computing” and is developed to offer customers the freedom to choose the most suited IT-infrastructure model which meets the actual needs.
Flexibility and cost reduction are central in this choice; customers only pay for the used capacity.
Resources can be added or reduced dynamic and quickly so the infrastructure of our customer can grow in a flexible way and always related to their business needs.
The internet-connectivity is being assured by the fully redundant Explore-network which connects Deutsche Leasing with the Cheops Datacenter.
The e-mail traffic of Deutsche Leasing is being re-directed through the Managed Email Security-solution drastically enabling Deutsche Leasing its network from spam and viruses.
The Managed Email Security-solution provided by Cheops is able to filter an average of 96% of all e-mails containing spam-content and/or viruses without our customers investing in any hardware or software.
We wish Deutsche Leasing the best of luck in entering the Belgian market!
