Pittsburgh Corning Europe awards international project to Cheops

Following a thorough selection procedure, Pittsburgh Corning Europe, a division of the American specialist in Foamglas cellular glass insulation, appointed Cheops to carry out an extensive IT project at European level. The core aims of this project are to simplify infrastructure management and to centralise data. The first phase was launched in January 2010 and the assignment is set to be fully completed this summer, 158 man days later. The project involves migration to the following new technologies:
- VMware: Upgrading the existing 3.5 environment to VMware 4.0, after a test phase.
- MS Exchange: Reducing a set-up of three MS Exchange Servers 2003 to one single server, and upgrading to MS Exchange Server 2010.
- MS Windows: Upgrading from a Windows 2003 domain to Windows 2008 and consolidating 2 external domains into 1 domain.
- Citrix: Replacing the current Presentation Server 4 with a new XENapp 5 farm and adding XENdesktop 4.0 for laptop users.
- Upgrade to MS Office 2010.
