Cheops takes over Infrastructure division of AG Solution

Cheops has entered into a take-over agreement with AG Solution, an Antwerp-based company specializing in Process Automation and IT Infrastructure. Both customers and employees of the IT Infrastructure division of AG Solution will be transferred to Cheops.
Partnership
The two companies have also agreed closer cooperation. AG Solution will use Cheops for infrastructure solutions and managed services. And vice versa, Cheops will turn to AG Solution when it comes to automating IT processes within an industrial environment.
“The reason for this acquisition is twofold," says Filip Goos, Managing Director of Cheops. “First there are the excellent skills of the staff within the IT Infrastructure division. On the other hand, AG Solution has a strong customer portfolio, with around 30 mid-market SMEs and several multinationals. The activities of the IT Infrastructure division also fit perfectly within the offering from Cheops.”
Specialized skills
Located on the Left Bank of the River Scheldt, AG Solution has highly specialized skills in-house, including in the field of security of IT environments. Thus, for example, the company provides training on WatchGuard solutions in Belgium. “This is a great opportunity for Cheops to further expand our competence in the area of security and virtualisation," says Filip Goos, “while the existing customers of AG Solution can get to know about the extensive service offering from Cheops.”

Eric Billiard, CEO of AG Solution is also pleased with the acquisition and partnership: “Our customers are served by the same familiar staff, but can also rely on the knowledge and skills of the entire Cheops team. That is definitely a plus for them. We are also pleased with the partnership that we have entered into. Cheops is a dynamic partner which has long been investing in innovative technologies and specialized staff. This is clearly a win-win situation.”
This acquisition will increase the turnover of Cheops to about 14 million euro for 2011 with value-added of more than 5 million euro. In total, Cheops now has around 250 clients in its core portfolio, and a workforce of 80 employees.
