New Financial Director: Marc Geerts

Cheops is pleased to welcome Marc Geerts (52), the new Financial Director as of 29 August. Marc Geerts has extensive professional experience and just like Cheops, he attaches great importance to innovation.
Having graduated with a diploma in Accountancy & Tax, Marc Geerts has for over 19 years been building up his experience as a financial director. Together with his team and his colleagues, he supported the growth of Dera Group, a multinational in the food industry. He already had a strong affinity with IT, which also fell under his responsibility.
Innovation is key
Just like Cheops, Marc Geerts attaches a lot of importance to innovation. “Innovation instead of imitation is more crucial than ever”, says Marc. “Globalisation has led to the emergence of large players with more clout and resources. Moreover, the rising number of change processes mean we need to use the latest technologies, or run the risk of falling behind the competition and facing an almost insurmountable race to catch up.”
“I know from experience how important budgets, measurable results and the security of a reliable IT partner are for a company”, explains Marc. “Every company needs an IT environment that offers increased efficiency, reduced Total Cost of Ownership and maximum reliability. A career as a hobby

Although my career has always been my most important hobby, as a father of three children this is not unimportant."
