As a System Engineer I am in charge of the day-to-day management of our customers’ systems, such as mail systems, the network and the virtualised server environment. In most cases they are located in our own cloud platform and I manage them from a distance. I am also the final point of contact for my Service Desk colleagues, for whom I deliver third-line support for complex problems.
Why did you apply for your current position?
I heard about Cheops on the professional social network LinkedIn. After the initial interview I was immediately convinced by the company’s approach to proactive management or ‘managed services’. Before I joined Cheops, I worked full-time in the IT department of another company so I was immediately enthusiastic about the opportunity to work with different customer environments at Cheops.
What do you find interesting about your job?
Cheops breathes IT and technology. IT is the company’s core business. In other words, my job gives me a front row seat in the whole digital revolution that is taking the business world by storm. That is why one of my main motivations is to offer our customers added value through IT. In addition, the diversity of the various customer environments brings new challenges every day. And as the final point of contact it is my job to always come up with an adequate and workable solution.
Why would anyone like to work at Cheops?
Working at Cheops means working for a company that goes out of its way to do the best job possible for its customers on a daily basis. The atmosphere is positive and convivial and there’s a strong drive. Also, at Cheops IT professionals benefit from an attractive salary package and there is no shortage of opportunities to take additional courses.
